Historical, architectural and scenic highlights of the regional capital
The classical guided tour through the Swabian metropolis starts in the courtyard of the Old Castle. Our walk leads via the “Schillerplatz”, where you can also see the “Stiftskirche”, to the “Markthalle” (market hall). This building with its Art Nouveau style has fascinated its interested and hungry visitors to date. We will walk past the “Schlossplatz” to the “Schlossgarten” (palace garden) with its architectural contrasts between opera house and house of parliament. From there we will head towards Sir Stirling’s masterpiece, the “cultural mile” at the Konrad-Adenauer-Strasse. It continues uphill beyond the famous “Eugensstaffeln” to Stuttgart’s sought-after residential area at the “Eugensplatz”. We take enchanted alleys on our way back downtown. Finally, the tour ends at the Wilhelmspalais, the residence of the last King of Wuerttemberg.
